​Julian Müller is the Sustainable Finance Officer at BEUC, the European Consumer Organisation. Before BEUC, he worked as a policy adviser in the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee of the European Parliament and as economic and financial researcher in different civil society organisations. In these roles he dealt with sustainability in the financial sector from the regulatory angle, which included the Sustainable Finance Disclosures Regulation, the Carbon Benchmark Regulation and the Taxonomy for Sustainable Investment, but also as a user of publicly available corporate information about sustainability impacts.

Julian Müller is an economic sociologist by training. He holds a Magister Artium in philosophy from the Free University Berlin and a PhD in sociology from Lancaster University (UK). His PhD research was on the political economy of the international standardisation of financial accounting through IFRS and the rise of fair value accounting.
