Markus holds a German degree in Economics with subjects in
Accounting and Corporate Finance. Following military duty and several years as a
professional in the real estate business, he worked with a Big-4
auditing company in Germany until 2007.
Due to his involvement in
utilities industry audits, he joined Vattenfall group accounting in 2007 as an
IFRS specialist. Since 2009, Markus has taken responsibility for Accounting
& Tax matters at 50Hertz Transmission (a German Transmission System Operator
and a former Vattenfall-owned-company, now held by Elia & IFM).
He is
strongly involved in strategic and regulatory discussions as well as the
development of proper accounting approaches for regulated businesses.
